Photographers
Exhibition prints, portfolios and proofs on the paper the final print will use: cotton rag, metallic, or lustre, gloss and matte photographic papers.
Sending your files
For photographic papers, send an sRGB file with the profile embedded; for giclée on fine art paper, Adobe RGB. Either way, 240 dpi at the final size keeps the print sharp, and JPEG, TIFF and PNG are all fine. Our printers are RGB devices, so there is no need to convert to CMYK.
Every file is looked at by hand before it is printed. If the resolution won’t hold at the size you want, or a colour won’t survive on the paper you chose, we tell you first and suggest what to change.
Papers and finishes
Lustre, gloss or matte
Lustre keeps blacks rich without the glare of gloss. Gloss gives colour and contrast the most punch. Matte reads the same under any light.
Cotton rag
For exhibition work most photographers move to cotton rag, such as Photo Rag Bright White or Rag Photographique.
Photo Rag Metallic
A 340gsm cotton rag with a pearlescent surface. A black-and-white portrait gains depth in its shadows.
Proofs
A test print on the final stock, compared and adjusted before the run, then kept as the reference for later prints.
Portfolios, shows and albums
We print portfolios and exhibition sets up to 40 inches wide, with length effectively unlimited, so panoramas are no problem. Most orders are ready to ship in three to five business days, then reach you by tracked courier in three to seven.
If you give clients a finished album, we also lay out and bind photobooks, in leather, linen or hard covers.
As a fine art photographer I appreciate when someone understands my technical jargon, I’m certainly never disappointed with them.
Price your prints
The order page works out the price for each size and paper, and lets you see your picture on a wall before you send it.
